Dan Cowan
Soccer Coach
Coach Dan grew up in the heavily competitive youth sports landscape of Toms River, NJ, playing multiple sports at a competitive level. Can played for various competitive travel clubs in the Jersey shore area mainly as a goalkeeper, while also playing at center back and on the wing at times.
As a senior captain he led his Toms River North team to the A-South league and Shore Conference tournament championships, a #7 state ranking, while individually earning All-State and All-County honors as a goalie. He twice earned All-American status in Track & Field in HS (pentathlon and shuttle hurdles) and attended Babson College (D3) for both soccer and track, where he was a 3x All New England 110m hurdler. While living in Rockland, MA he coached various boys/girls u6-u18 for Rockland Youth Soccer (MA) and spent 2017-2022 coaching u6-u10 at Phoenix Rising Desert Foothills recreation. He also coaches softball at Cactus Foothills Little League and helps run a youth track and field camp in Cave Creek.
Through his playing days he was exposed to coaches who’ve won multiple high school state titles, national titles at club and collegiate levels, as well as USMNT staff. He believes in the mantra of “Play Hard. Play Fast. Have Fun!” and is excited to support FC Batavia athletes as they grow as athletes and individuals.
