David Taylor
Soccer Coach
Coach Taylor grew up playing in the London FA Youth leagues. Under the mentorship of ex-Arsenal midfielder Dave Price, Taylor learned everything you need to know about the fundamentals of soccer. He gained unique insights about technique and strategy from an elite player. Taylor continued his playing career through high school and college, representing Loughborough University, a BUCS Premier North Division team.
Upon moving to the States, Taylor shifted his focus to coaching. He spent 3 years as the varsity coach of McClintock High School and later went on to coach his own kids at Sereno Soccer Club, RSL-AZ, and YNSL. Through 30+ years of playing and coaching experience, Taylor has mastered many elements of soccer, which he enjoys sharing with the younger generation.
Taylor also teaches in the Tempe Union High School District. In his various roles as a teacher, department chair, and school improvement coordinator, Taylor has developed a deep understanding of how students learn. In his leadership roles, Taylor has gained valuable experience mentoring teachers, providing professional development, and implementing growth plans.
Taylor has his U.S. Soccer grassroots licenses and is currently registered for the D license course this summer.
