FC Batavia Success Story: Ty Meagher
Our former player Ty Meagher just signed his first pro contract with Valley United FC! We are incredibly proud of his achievement and his dedication to reaching his dream. Congratulations Ty! Your journey has just begun, and we will be following you every step on the way. You more than deserve this and you are an inspiration for our young Batavians!
We recently asked Ty to share his thoughts on his experience playing for Coach Rick and this is what he said.
“Along my youth soccer journey, I’ve had many coaches. What separates Coach Rick from the others is how he not only develops the entire team but also personally connects to each player specifically offering a way to better themselves on and off the field.”
Being part of Rick’s teams always felt more like a family environment rather than a business. I always felt that he truly cared about my development. It wasn’t always about winning or losing but more of how the team and myself can get better. He gave me the opportunity to experience my first trial where he played professionally in the Netherlands which gave me the confidence to really push myself to play professionally and achieve my goal. Rick always supported me and I’m forever grateful.”
Your support has always meant the world to our entire family. A little piece of you walks on that pitch with him every time. Keep promoting your club and what you do!”
We also know it’s important to hear what other parents might have to say. Ty’s mom, Angie, shared these thoughts with us.
“Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough! The coach before told Ty ‘Your goal of playing pro is one in a million.’ So in the car I told Ty, ‘Well, someone has to be the one!’ That very next tournament you approached Todd and I and invited us to tryouts. Man was that perfect timing!

Good luck to our teams participating in the @arizonasoccerassociation Presidents Cup beginning this weekend: 2006B Navy, 2008B Navy, 2010B Navy and 2011B Navy!
This tournament will span the next few weeks with the winners of the Gold Division earning an entry to the Far West championships!

+ Director of Goalkeeping Center of Excellence
+ Grassroots Program Director
+ College Soccer Advisory Director
Coach Andreas joins us from Illinois where he has been running his own soccer club for 14 years as well as his Olympic GK Academy for 20 years! Coach Andreas has a wealth of playing and coaching experience, as well as a strong record of helping players get placed into a college program to continue their playing careers.
In these roles Coach Andreas will:
+ Lead the Goalkeeping Center of Excellence program for all Batavia goalkeepers
+ Oversee our new Grassroots 5v5 recreation program that will begin in Fall 2024 - more details coming soon!
+ Support all high school aged players who are interested in continuing their playing career in college with information, resources and support

Meet Arjun Dileep from our 2016 Boys Navy team. Arjun was chosen by Coach Braxton as our next player spotlight and she says, “Arjun is a ball of energy on the pitch, and a great teammate on and off the field. He consistently tries his best and his hard work has allowed him to improve his play throughout the season becoming a key part of our team. Arjun’s positive attitude is contagious. Bringing home some hardware 🏆🏅Congrats to the 2011 Boys Navy on winning the Championship and the 2012 Boys Orange on being Finalists at the @yavapaisoccer Yavapai All Boys Tournament!
The 2011 Boys Navy went undefeated and won a thrilling final in PKs to earn the title in the top u13 bracket🔥⚽️ The 2012 Boys Orange also went undefeated in group play and finished as runners-up to cap off a great effort all weekend.

Good luck to the 2010B Navy and 2012G Navy teams at the Brazas Ginga Champions Cup this weekend! The 2012G opened with an action-packed 4-4 draw last night, and the 2010B open play today. Go Batavia! 🟠🔵
